Electric actuators are devices in automation technology tools that receive control information and exert control effects on controlled objects. The actuator is also an instrument that directly changes the control variables in the forward path of the control system, consisting of an actuator and a regulating mechanism.
Working principle of electric actuators: At the gear level, the engine speed can be transmitted to the output rod through two sets of gears. The main reducer is completed by a planetary gear, and the secondary reducer is achieved by a worm gear, which is fixed in the center position by a set of tight springs. In the event of overload, i.e. when the output rod exceeds the set torque of the spring, the worm gear will experience axial displacement, fine-tuning the switch and signal device, and the electric actuator will provide protection for the system.
Due to the coupling effect controlled by an external change control lever, the output lever is coupled to the worm gear during engine operation and to the handwheel during manual operation. When the engine is not working, the electric actuator can easily disconnect the motor drive and simply press the control lever to connect the handwheel. Due to the priority of motor drive over manual operation, when the engine starts again, reverse action will automatically occur. This can avoid turning on the handwheel while the engine is running, which is beneficial for protecting the system.
Due to the direct coupling of the handwheel with the output rod, normal manual operation of the electric actuator can be ensured in the event of internal gear failure or damage.
